Alia Snively has been in her current role with the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) since 2015. Prior to joining NCC, she completed her bachelor of science degree at the University of Alberta, where she focused her studies on conservation biology and land reclamation. After graduating, she completed a master's degree (also at the U of A) in land reclamation, looking at different techniques to reclaim forest understories on previously mined sites in northern Alberta. Other experience includes wetland and forest recalamation research.
Alia lives in Red Deer with her husband and son. She has always loved nature and spending time outdoors, but her true passion is plants and growing as many as possible both inside and outside.
