Delivering the Kampala Vision: A New Chapter for Cameroon’s Agrifood Systems

This article highlights the significance of the CAADP Kampala Declaration Workshop held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and why it matters for the country’s future food systems and climate resilience. It explains how the Kampala Declaration and the CAADP Strategy 2026–2035 aim to move Africa from policy commitments to real implementation that strengthens agriculture, supports farmers, and builds resilient agrifood systems. The article also reflects on the role of the Africa Climate and Environment Foundation (ACEF) in the process, particularly its mandate to represent the youth constituency in Cameroon. It emphasizes that young people, civil society, and community actors must be actively involved in shaping and implementing agricultural and climate policies. Ultimately, the piece calls for implementation that communities can truly feel, through better opportunities, stronger rural livelihoods, and more resilient food systems.
